Dying Squirrel Tails

Looking for an recipe to dye squirrel tails. I am using grey squirrel tails and want o dye hot pink. Do I have to bleach the tails before dyeing? Can I use Rit dye? Any help appreciated. :confused:

I have never done it but I feel pretty sure that it would be best to bleach them first. You could probably bleach them out with some peroxide.

Sorry can't help but would love to know the answer. I'm am sure someone will come along with the correct answer.

Wheres all our jig makers at to help answer our friends question here?
We only have 20 or 30 jig makers so I'm sure 1 of you can help us all out wif a answer here.

Geez, Ghost your makein it tough on me. I've searched me memory bank and can't find a thing about dyein squirrel tails. I always live catch em and put em in a head gate and buzz the hair off em with clippers and then turn em loose. :tongue: Image
